As our next Underwriting Service Representative on a 12 month contract (with the probability of becoming permanent), you’ll undertake range of activities with the aim of increasing mortgage volume and quality through the intermediary market. You’ll engage with mortgage intermediaries through a range of communication mediums, primarily inbound phone calls, to active a market leading service.What you’ll be doingAs first point of contact for our mortgage intermediaries, our representatives are responsible for managing inbound calls on behalf of our Lending department, providing accurate case updates and working closely with Underwriters to ensure we are delivering a seamless customer experience.Your main responsibilities will include• Helping to deliver an exceptional customer experience by contributing to our mortgage applications via answering inbound calls from intermediaries.• Handling calls in accordance within service standards set.• Provide accurate case updates on in hand mortgage applications, communicating complex information clearly and simply. Working closely with underwriters to ensure we are delivering a seamless customer experience.• To identify and drive forward service improvements within the department to make the way we do business easier and simple. • To work closely within a team and to help foster working relationships to share best practice and to contribute to a great people experienceThe knowledge and skills you’ll have• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.• Possess an excellent attitude delivering excellent customer service.• Able to provide advice and guidance to intermediaries, solicitors, admin and customers.• Possess a general understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements such as MCOB and the TCF Principles.• Demonstrate a keen attention to detail.• Ability to build rapport with a wide range of customers and colleagues and manage difficult situations where required.• Ability to quickly overcome setbacks, demonstrating excellent resilience and tenacity.• Able to support ad-hoc project work and activities within the lending department.
