Aviva have an opportunity for a Technical Account Consultant to join Aviva Risk Management Solutions (ARMS) providing market leading risk management services to Aviva and our clients.
The Technical Account Consultant will lead all aspects of the delivery of cross-class Risk Engineering for chosen clients providing technical advice, information and support within Global Corporate & Specialty (GCS). This position is key in delivering a risk management service which supports Aviva’s intention to be the top tier insurer in chosen markets. Primarily supporting the Property class of business but health and safety experience is also desirable.
The role supports the GCS Underwriting teams by providing technical support (desktop reviews), carrying out site surveys in the UK and overseas and representing Aviva with brokers, clients and Insurance forums.
This person will act as a dedicated focal point for GCS accounts, managing risk engineering programmes to delivering agreed customer outcomes while being a role model – coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

This role is home-based and flexible in where it can be in the UK but will require travel both nationally and internationally and regular attendance in our London office.
In addition to the above, duties & responsibilities include:
Delivering a risk management service which supports Aviva’s intention to be the leading Insurer in chosen markets
Completing cross-class new business presentations, selling the risk management and prevention proposition
Embracing innovation, implementing strategic initiatives to manage and increase the risk quality across accounts
Developing and delivering Corporate Risk Management propositions across UK/multinational accounts
Answering underwriting concerns and providing information on risk engineering activity and other operational risk issues
Positively contributing to the profit protection plans for Commercial
Skills & experiences required:
Extensive knowledge of current risk management and loss prevention practices for Property, Business Interruption, Construction and Liability risks
Appreciation of the Aviva’s GCS ARMS proposition and partner network
Very strong presentation and customer engagement skills, with experience at influencing and negotiating
Experience across a wide range of occupancies including manufacturing and warehouse/distribution
Track record of robust co-ordination skills when leading the risk engineering programmes for select accounts
Knowledge of international fixed protection codes such as NFPA, EN, LPC, FM etc.
Good knowledge of underwriting processes and ability to translate knowledge and experience into actions to effectively improve risk quality
Desirable: Qualifications in CFPA European Diploma in Fire Safety Management and/or industry specific qualifications (AIRM, ACII)
