Vacancy: Permit to Work Issuer

Reporting into the Contractor Coordinator, as PTW Issuer you will write and issue permits as required in conjunction with their assigned areas. You will also support the Contractor & PTW Coordinator in the auditing and monitoring of permits issued within their area for nights and weekends, and complete ad hoc auditing of permits issued across the site on rotation. You will have a deep under-pinning knowledge of their assigned area, and under-pinning knowledge of the PTW process through developed and demonstrated competency. In this role, you will demonstrate the ability to write and issue permits for all work conditions including but not limited to hot works, working at height and confined spaces
Write and issue permits, and approve associated risk assessments and job safety analyses within their assigned production area
Validate all necessary information is provided for permits (including but not limited to RAMS, JSA, OSTA, Energy Isolation Certificates)
Participate in routine cross-skilling initiatives to develop permit issuing competence in other areas across the site
Where necessary and appropriate, write and issue permits on behalf of other production areas
Provide support, guidance and advice to others writing permits and issuing permits across site
Review/audit any permits issued within your assigned area outside of your assigned working hours to reinforce standards and compliance
Support the Contractor & PTW Coordinator in managing, monitoring and validating all permits across site, and reviewing area-specific information on RAMS relating to your areas of expertise
Raise SIMOPS issues and recommend actions to mitigate to all those impacted
Ensure that all necessary control measures stated in permits have been completed (i.e. isolations, PPE/RPE etc.)
Participate in random permit audits across all areas of the site
Provide feedback to EHS on permit issuing and safety improvements through Enablon and attendance at safety meetings
Liaise with Team Leaders, Department Managers, Project Engineers, Site Services, Maintenance & Contractors to ensure all written & issued permits follow the correct procedures and adhere to the appropriate legislation
Act as the department lead for Enablon incident and near miss investigations, root cause analysis meetings and safety observations
To carry out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will be/have:
Relevant demonstratable Industry experience
Knowledge of Permit to Work systems and control of works
Competent with computerised systems and some knowledge of engineering software packages (i.e. Frontline) – Desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
