Role – Materials Manager
Salary – £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Location – Oxford, Oxfordshire

Atlas Employment are delighted to be assisting our client on the appointment of a Materials Manager based in Oxford. What will you be doing as a Materials Manager?
Identifying resources and training needs and completing development reviews
Ensuring manufacturing information packs and materials are dispensed to production teams in line with project requirements
Supervising the activities of the Stores Coordinator and ensuring that materials are received, processed, stored and issued in correspondence with procedures and production requirements
Managing the materials team and assigning of work priorities
Entering parts, bills of materials, work orders and routings into the ERP system
Ensuring timely receipt of materials through effective management of the MRP process
Raising and authorising purchase orders in correspondence with established financial limits
Ensuring the correct material inventory levels within financial constraints
Selecting new and existing suppliers established on the assessment of proficiency/capability of previous delivery/quality performance and price negotiation
Operating with Project Leaders and Sales to ensure that suitable suppliers are selected for high value and business critical parts and services
Supervising the activities of the Shipping Coordinator to ensure that shipments and collections are transacted in a well-timed manner and associated paperwork and records are accurate and complete
Ensuring cost, quality and delivery objectives are met through close working with suppliers
Arranging challenging personal and team goals and ensuring that good working relationships are maintained with other teams

Previous experience in a similar role using and/or implementing ERP systems within a project based or low volume manufacturing setting
Experience of working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commercial and negotiating skills
