When you think about it, you rely on your water supply every single day. Whether it’s brushing your teeth, washing your hands or brewing your morning cup of tea – turn on the tap and away you go. It’s an expectation you’ve come to know that whenever you need it, water will be – quite literally – on tap.
But what if that wasn’t the case?
In these unprecedented times, it’s essential to keep up the supply of safe, high-quality drinking water that households and communities up and down the UK can rely on. And you can be a part of the journey to make it happen.
Your next role
As a Maintenance Planning Manager, you’ll understand the importance of the role you play in delivering safe, clean drinking water to your communities – now more than ever. You’ll recognise the value of the work you do and you’ll take pride in being an integral part of the team in water delivery, ensuring customers receive the very best when they turn on the tap.
So whether it’s the water that keeps the shower running, or that makes the morning tea round, you’ll be a vital part of the journey from source to tap.
As a Maintenance Planning Manager you’ll take ownership of the delivery plan for reactive, planned and emergency works within the supply area, balancing the needs of Capital works and demand across the area, accounting for Statutory, Regulatory and Compliance work whilst providing technical guidance and expertise for the team of Technicians and Engineers out on the field.
What do I need?
You will need a strong technical bias with planning and project management experience.
Experience in the Water industry is essential as you will be the technical lead so above ground asset water/wastewater knowledge is required.
You will have strong organisational skills in order to pick up the day to day maintenance activities, taking ownership to resolve problems that may arise and motivational and influential leadership skills to coordinate the works within the team.
As the service you’ll provide is essential to the customer, you’ll be comfortable participating in a standby rota to ensure someone’s always on call if there’s an operational issue. It’s all part of your outstanding service.
What’s in it for me?
The work you’ll do is essential for Affinity Water to deliver safe, clean drinking water to over 3.6 million customers every day. In return, you’ll be entitled to a host of benefits including a double-matching pension scheme, on-the-job training and opportunities to undertake further education, career progression, and a holiday allowance that increases with length of service. So the longer you stay, the more you gain.
