Maintain strong working knowledge of the UK regulatory requirements and appropriately apply them to the internal audit practices.
Prepare and review the annual Risk Assessment and Audit Plan in a timely manner.
Appropriately manage individual internal audits including, co-sourcing or other arrangements e.g. contractors. Results of each audit is effectively reported to the Head of Department, Head Office Internal Audit Department and Senior Management.
Monitor the progress of remedial actions taken by the Branch and Subsidiary. Follow-ups, validation of remediation evidence and the Audit Findings Tracking Report (AFTR) are appropriately completed in a timely manner.
Develop and implement a robust risk-based audit approach.
Perform robust audit file reviews as part of the quality assurance requirement.
Perform ongoing monitoring of the risks of the Bank and Subsidiary by e.g. attending Committees/Meetings, reviewing internal documents, and report the results to the Head of Department.
Prepare and/or review the Monthly and Quarterly Reports for HOIAD in a timely manner.
Prepare Meeting Agendas (and Minutes) in a timely manner to include topical issues -regulatory and business specific- for the monthly and quarterly meetings hosted by the Head of Department.
Agree in advance with the Head of Department contents of all outgoing communications relating to the activities of IAD.
Develop, maintain and apply appropriate knowledge of rules, policies, procedures and standards of HOIAD and/or the Bank.
Provide ongoing on-the-job training and direction to auditors to ensure that all assignments are performed in accordance with department and professional standards.
Assist the Head of Department in cooperating with HOIAD auditors during their on-site audit at the Branch or Subsidiary, when requested.
